How to use etc

Everything you can do with etc. — logging your food by voice, planning meals, tracking training, and watching your recovery. If you can say it, etc. can log it.

Getting started

A two-minute setup, then you're logging in seconds.

  1. Create your account and complete onboarding — your name, age, height and weight.
  2. Set your goal — pick a primary goal (lose, maintain, gain), your calorie target, and how many days a week you train.
  3. Add allergies & conditions so meal suggestions and plans stay safe for you.
  4. Start logging — tap the mic and just say what you ate, or use photo, barcode, or manual entry.
The fastest way in: tap the microphone and say “log two eggs and toast for breakfast.” etc. parses the quantities and macros and drops it straight into your day — no forms.

The three pillars

etc. is built on the three things that actually change how you feel: what you eat, how you train, and how you recover.

Eat

Log food by voice, photo, barcode or search. Save recipes, plan meals, and see your calories and macros against your targets.

Train

Follow a weekly plan, check off exercises, time your rest and cardio, and watch your training minutes add up.

Charge

Track sleep, water, weight, mood and energy. Log wins and supplements. It all rolls into one daily score.

Talking to etc.

The voice assistant is the heart of etc. — one AI you can reach by voice, chat, or dictation. It understands natural language, so you don't learn commands, you just talk.

Things you can say

Log two eggs and toast for breakfast What did I eat on Tuesday? Move my lunch to dinner I drank 500 ml of water I slept 7 hours last night I went for a 20-minute run Plan my meals for the next three days Set my protein goal to 180 grams Mark my creatine as taken Set a 3-minute rest timer
etc. reads plans and meals back to you before saving anything, so nothing lands in your day unseen. Prefer typing? Chat with the same assistant. Want to check the words first? Use dictation — speak, watch it transcribe, then tap to log.

Logging food

Four ways in, one accurate result. However you log, the macros land in your day.

  • Voice — tap the mic and say what you ate. Quantities, portions and macros are parsed from a single sentence.
  • Manual entry — search foods and add them with a serving size, for when you want to pick from a list.
  • “Log my day” — describe a whole day in one sentence and etc. splits it into meals for you.
  • Edit anytime — add, edit, move between meals (breakfast → dinner), or delete entries. Just say “move my lunch to dinner” or do it by tap.

Photo & barcode

For plates and packages, skip the typing entirely.

Photo analyzer

Snap a photo of your plate. etc. identifies each item with its own portion and returns a full breakdown you can adjust before it's saved.

Barcode scanner

Point at the label on packaged food. The exact product data comes in — serving size included — so nothing is rounded off or guessed.

Recipes

Your Recipe Book comes with 120 recipes — and remembers the ones you make.

  • Log a dish as one meal — say “log my Sunday chili” and the whole recipe logs as one entry with its ingredients nested inside, not blade-by-blade.
  • Saved & recalled by name — recipes you log are remembered, so you can re-log or ask about them later (“what was in that smoothie?”).
  • “What can I cook?” — tell etc. the ingredients you have and it suggests recipes you can make.

Meal planning

Plan your week out loud — nothing is saved until you say yes.

  1. Ask for a plan — “plan my meals for the next three days.”
  2. etc. builds it around your calorie target, preferences and allergies.
  3. It reads the plan back — the meals and the day's macros — before anything is written to your diary.
  4. You approve — say “yes, add it” and the plan is saved. Not what you wanted? Say “change it.”

Nutrition dashboard

Your whole day at a glance.

See calories and every macro against your targets — for today, this week and this month. Protein, carbs and fat each track toward your goal, so you always know what's left.

Workouts & plans

A plan for the week, a log for the day.

  • Weekly plan — a 7-day workout plan with a per-day exercise checklist you tick off as you go.
  • Exercise library — add exercises to any day from the library.
  • Log by voice mid-workout — “bench press, four sets of ten at 145” logs without breaking your rhythm.
  • This Week card — see your training days and total workout minutes add up.

Timers & other activities

Tools for the session itself.

  • Rest timer — “set a 3-minute rest timer” between sets.
  • Stopwatch — for timing anything on the fly.
  • Other Activity — a timer for cardio or sport (a run, a game), logged into your week.

Sleep, water & weight

Recovery is half the result — so etc. tracks it in one place.

  • Sleep — log hours and quality; a 7-day chart shows the trend. “I slept 7 hours last night.”
  • Water — log by type with quick-adds. “I drank 500 ml of water.”
  • Weight — track weight over time and see your trend line move.

Mood, wins & supplements

The parts of progress the scale doesn't show.

  • Daily check-in — log your mood and energy each day so you can see how they track with your habits.
  • Wins — record non-scale wins, added manually or captured automatically as you hit milestones.
  • Supplements — keep a supplement list and mark them taken. “Mark my creatine as taken.”

Daily score

One number for the whole day.

Your Eat, Train and Charge activity roll into a single daily score ring — a quick read on how the day's coming together across all three pillars.

Profile & goals

Tune etc. to you.

  • Profile — name, age, height and weight.
  • Goals — your primary goal, calorie target, and weekly activity days. Adjust by voice too: “set my protein goal to 180 grams.”
  • Allergies & conditions — kept in mind for meal suggestions and plans.

Settings & your data

You're in control of the app and your information.

  • Appearance — light or dark mode.
  • AI features — toggle the AI assistant on or off.
  • Notifications — turn reminders on or off.
  • Your data — export a full copy of everything you've logged, or delete your account and your data with it.
Your health data is yours. It's never sold or shared, it's encrypted, and only reachable by your own account. Delete means delete — close your account and your data goes with it.

FAQ

Do I have to type anything?

No. Voice is the primary way in — just talk. Typing (chat) and dictation are there if you prefer them.

How accurate are the macros?

Every entry is grounded in a trusted nutrition database — real measured data, not a guess — including oils, sauces and cooking methods that most trackers miss.

Does it save my meal plan automatically?

No — etc. reads the plan back to you first and only saves it once you approve. Nothing lands in your day unseen.

Is etc. a medical service?

No. etc. supports general wellness. It doesn't diagnose, treat, or replace a clinician — talk to a professional about medical decisions.
